Donation FAQ

What percentage of donations actually goes to charities?

We invest at the minimum 80% of all donations to our charities. We are extremely proud of that.  We have given 100% when we can.  But the minimum is always 80%.

Where does the 20% go then?

The 20% goes to operational costs required to keep the fundraising engine running. As much as we’d like to, we’re not able to run the organization on volunteers alone.

What does it mean when you say you’ve raised $XXX,XXX for kids?

This is huge difference amongst charities: money RAISED verses money DONATED.  You can raise all the money in the world, but where is it going?  We are extremely proud to say all of our numbers are actual amounts DONATED! (Sorry we’re being annoying with capital letters here, but it’s a big deal)

Are you an authorized charity?

No. We are currently filing our application with the IRS and hope to have a determination by 5/1/11.

Are my contributions tax deductible?

Yes. Immediately, at the time of your online donation, You will be emailed an official tax-exempt notification to claim the donation on your taxes.
